|Recommended: YesWhat you would expect out of an apartment complex — Why can't we use the Sterling Heights pool if we pay a fee for the key fob It only seems fair, we are practically the same complex. The office we report to is the Sterling Heights office even though there is an Avalon office that is not being used. That's just a little thing though. Overall I really like this place. Maintenance is awesome Parking is really hard to find after 6pm and especially hard on the weekends.
|Recommended: YesAvalon Park is a great Place to live. — We lived in Avalon Park for 5 years and loved living here. It's a small complex that is relatively quiet and peaceful overall. Parking is the only drawback if you have more than 1 car. Still, I'd give our experience a 9 10. Management Sterling Heights was always great to work with as well.
|Recommended: YesHappy to Be in a Beautiful Non Smoking Community — Best office staff and maintenance staff ever Everyone is helpful, friendly, the grounds and my apartment are well maintained, and the very few maintenance requests I had were handled promptly and efficiently. Although dogs are allowed, I don't have one. Dogs are kept on leash and there are no barking problems. Every leashed dog I've greeted has been friendly. Two wishes covered mailboxes perhaps near the ofc, opening up a few more parking spaces at their current location and a second entrance exit to the complex. On the whole, it's quiet and peaceful and I love living here.
|Recommended: YesGreat apartment — Overall this place is great. We have only had to call maintenance twice in two years. The neighbors are quiet and the area is nice. The only concerns are that the kitchen sink is shallow, so washing or filling large pots is very difficult. Also trying to turn left out of the parking lot during high traffic times is very difficult. But, the apartment is great otherwise.
|Recommended: YesPretty good with some issues. — The apartment itself has a good layout and is comfortable. The heating system, however, isn't great. It is too small and doesn't reach far-causing us to sit by it in the cold months in order to warm up. Most of the neighbors in our building are kind and keep the noise level down, even with kids Parking isn't usually a problem.
One nuisance is with the apartment office--there is never anyone there. We always have to call Sterling Heights. It makes us wonder why there is even an office in our complex and it was recently remodeled too . It doesn't feel like we are Avalon Park... we are more Sterling Heights.
Another issue we have is with noise. The neighboring apartments Sterling Heights that our balcony goes out to are often loud late into the night 1-2am . They play loud music, cheer and yell, and talk very loudly. The other problem is that while these are non-smoking apartments, there is someone smoking daily nearby. We haven't figured out who it is, but their disgusting smoke always goes up to our windows, making it unbearable to keep our windows open during these warm months. It's completely unacceptable.
